Sage Aesthetics / Legal
Accessibility.
We want everyone to be able to use this website.
Our aim
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in line with our duty not to discriminate under the Equality Act 2010. We have not had an independent audit yet. The notes below come from our own checks.
What we have done
- A clear heading structure, descriptive link text and text alternatives for photographs.
- The site can be used with a keyboard, and the keyboard focus is visible.
- The background film and the changing word on the home page can be stopped with the “Pause motion” button. If your device is set to “reduce motion”, they start stopped. The Inside Sage film has its own pause button and sound control.
- The film on the home page has captions that are part of the picture, and it starts without sound.
- Text can be enlarged and the layout adapts to small screens.
- We ran an automatic accessibility check (axe-core) on every page of the site in a desktop and a phone size. It found no failures against WCAG 2.2 level A and AA. Automatic checks catch only part of the possible problems.
What is not perfect yet
- The film has captions but no separate written transcript.
- The map and the booking page are provided by Google and Glowday. We do not control their accessibility.
- We have not yet tested with every screen reader.
